At our St John’s Wood storage facility we discovered that around 8-10% of our residential storage customers use hybrid or electric cars. It may seem strange given that the market share of these vehicles in the UK is less that 1%*, but then residents of our Central London storage centre would say they were early adopters of most new ideas.
Using hybrid and electric vehicles makes an important contribution to reducing our individual and corporate carbon footprints. This reason alone justified Fort Box’s decision to add a EV Charge Point in their internal loading bay to their list of many free storage services. Many local customers frequently visit their storage rooms to bring or collect their goods, now they have the added convenience of being able to charge their car batteries for free if they wish.
With EV usage set to increase tenfold in the next ten years* across the UK, Fort Box expects to see many more of its Central London storage customers avail themselves of a free top up charge over the next few years. To see a full list of storage services offered visit our website.
